Carrara, with Adobe After Effects and Sony Vegas

The majority of my Tutorials are about Carrara a 3d program available at the DAZ 3D store. There are lots of them, for a full list please Click here

For a while I used Adobe After Effects and I may well use it again, so there are some tutorials on that. I continue to use Sony Vegas for composting duties, so you’ll find several tutorials for that package too.

For the Cyberpunk Dystopia a lot of my attention went into creating massive scenes. This required a sound knowledge of kit bashing, texture reduction, low poly people, and polygon reduction. So you’ll find a lot of tutorials on those themes, as well as animation and transfering data between Daz and Carrara.

The state of play in 2022

As the Carrara core program has not been developed since 2013, and Daz are increasingly closing down Carrara products from the store, we have to look to other programs for the most efficient pipeline.

To this end, I’ve returned to use DAZ 3D and I’ve added Twinmotion. The later now uses unreal engine to render. Indeed there is a bridge between it and Unreal engine, which is great for 3d animation too.

As well as Iray. Daz can render with the filament render engine. Recently several plug-ins have been produced for it. Although inferior to Iray in quality, it renders instantly. So ideal for developing animations.

The future is bright. The future is fragmented development.
